Looking east up Fulton at the Arguello Gate of Golden Gate Park:
There was the typical quick reaction from SFPD/SFFD (which is why the ppl at 911 don’t really care about your latest non-injury fender-bender, frankly), but then the pace slowed and the loading took some time, which is a good sign.
You can see the new signals that DPW/SFMTA/SFGov is s-l-o-w-l-y putting in here. (IMO, this intersection should be NO LEFT TURNS for traffic on inbound Fulton, but there might be a strategy from the SFMTA to create congestion here, IDK.)
Somebody on a bike had some accident here something like a decade ago. IIRC he was astonished to see that the SFPD cited some CVC code section saying that ppl exiting parks need to yield to everybody else, and I thought gee, is that right, like this was/is a fully signalized intersection, not some bucolic byway, so is it really true that those heading south on Arguello through this historic gate need to yield to traffic coming north the other way wanting to turn left to get on inbound Fulton. So I said that I could look at the official collision report, but I never ending up seeing it so IDK.
Anyway, there is a different signal set up here now so maybe the SFPD would interpret the law differently these days? IDK.
